Felipe Calderón Featured Speaker for 2013 Flora Cameron Lecture on Politics and Public Affairs at Trinity University



SAN ANTONIO - Felipe Calderón, president of Mexico from 2006 to 2012, is the featured speaker for the 2013 Flora Cameron Lecture on Politics and Public Affairs. His presentation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in Laurie Auditorium.

Due to an anticipated full house, tickets will be required for admission to this free public lecture. Tickets will be made available to the general public beginning Monday, March 11. Limit two tickets per person. The Laurie Auditorium box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets will be distributed until all have been picked up. As president of Mexico from 2006 to 2012, Felipe Calderón prioritized access to health services for the entire population and emphasized the development of infrastructure with the dual aim of improving Mexicans’ standard of living and increasing the competitiveness of the Mexican economy. He also championed construction of a country based on the rule of law, and positioned Mexico as a global leader in fighting the threat of climate change. Calderón holds a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, a master’s in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and a master’s in public administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
