The International Programs Office leads the efforts of international education and promotes global engagement at Trinity University. The office aspires to enhance the transformative educational experience by creating and fostering opportunities for teaching, learning, and advancing global understanding and intercultural competence in an increasingly interdependent world. The office incorporates:

International Studies - This interdisciplinary major is for individuals interested in diplomacy, cultures and languages, and human development in a global context. Students select a concentration in African Studies, East Asian Studies, European Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Middle East Studies, International Affairs, or International Environmental Studies. Unparalleled opportunities are available through the East Asian Studies at Trinity (EAST), Mexico, the Americas and Spain (MAS), and Languages Across the Curriculum (LAC) programs.

Study Abroad - Trinity provides customized advising to students wanting to include an international semester or year in their degree program. Because we advise each student individually, all majors, including pre-med and engineering, are able to study abroad while at Trinity. Nearly half of Trinity students spend a semester, summer, or year studying in more than 40 countries. Study abroad enrich the educational experience by providing unique opportunities such as foreign-language immersion, internships in professional or service settings, and home-stays with families in the destination country.

International Student and Scholar Services - Ten percent of Trinity students come from outside of the United States and ISSS provides them with advice and support to maintain their legal immigrant status. In addition, the staff provides educational advising, social support, and cultural programming to assist in the transition to the United States, San Antonio, and Trinity University. The staff provides enrichment activities and events such as field trips to Austin, alternative spring breaks to New York City, and a cultural exchange program that connects students with local families.
