About Us

Trinity University Police Department provides 24-hour police and security coverage for the University community 365 days a year. The office is located at 538 Kings Court. The Department is responsible for services in the areas of parking, traffic control, crime prevention, investigations and law enforcement.

The department employs a staff of professionals who are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the University community. All peace officers employed by the University are fully certified Texas Peace Officers and have full arrest authority. They are licensed under Article 51.212 of the Texas Education Code. University police officers have completed state mandated police recruit training programs and have met employment standards. All officers are trained through the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and AED as first responders.

Trinity University Peace & Security Officers protect and provide law enforcement services for the safety and welfare of students, employees, visitors, and Trinity University property, exercising independent judgment within institutional rules, regulations, department policies and the State of Texas Criminal and Traffic Laws.

Officers patrol the campus in vehicle, on bike or on foot. They provide service, information, and directions to students, employees and visitors and insure that University property and facilities are secure. They preserve the peace by lawful means and enforce traffic laws by detecting violations, making violator contacts, placing violators in custody and/or issuing criminal trespass warnings or citations.

The San Antonio Police Department, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office and other local police, state agencies as well as federal law enforcement agencies also have criminal jurisdiction on the Trinity University campus.
