Emergency Procedures

This page provides information to the Trinity University community about how to respond to a variety of emergency situations that could occur on campus.

Trinity University believes strongly in protecting the health, safety and welfare of its students, faculty and staff. To do so in emergencies requires preparation, so we invite you to visit these pages often and familiarize yourself with appropriate emergency procedures.

The university uses several methods to communicate information in the event of an emergency. These include:

Notification Procedures

The Emergency Web site- http://emergency.trinity.edu      

Emergency Hotline - In the event of an emergency, call 888-57-ALERT for the current status of campus conditions.  

TrinAlert - Click here to register to have emergency text announcements sent directly to your cell phone. Only warnings requiring immediate action will be sent via this system.

Emergency Telephone Alert - Messages may be broadcast directly to all student rooms and offices where there are University telephones. Messages will scroll as text and/or be broadcast over the telephone as intercom announcements.

E-mail Notification          

E-mail messages - Official news, information and instructions will be distributed by e-mail. Please check your Trinity e-mail on a regular basis. If you need to check e-mail from the Web, please go to https://tmail.trinity.edu

Students:
Emergency Contact Information - Do your parent(s) or guardian(s) know how to reach you during a crisis? Fill-out this form and it will send important contact information to your parent(s) or guardian(s).

Web page updates

Official news, information and instructions will be posted on the University Web site.

The Emergency Web site- http://emergency.trinity.edu. This Web site is hosted from a location off-campus (half-way across the country) and will be used to communicate information in the event of an emergency/disaster and campus network outage. In the event of a large scale or campus-wide disaster, you should visit http://emergency.trinity.edu  for current, vital Trinity information.

Trinity University will, without delay, and taking into account the safety of the community, determine the content of the notification and initiate appropriate notification, unless issuing a notification will, in the professional judgment of responsible authorities, compromise efforts to assist a victim or contain, respond or otherwise mitigate the emergency.
