Outside of the rigorous and flexible courses and the variety of student experiences it offers, the mathematics department believes it is also vital to include research as part of its fundamental curriculum goals. Students and faculty, sometimes in tandem, produce outstanding research projects that solve problems and get published in many reputable publications. Read more about this research below.

Student Research - Selected students participate in grant-funded research projects under the guidance of faculty mentors, providing challenging opportunities to gain practical experience.

Faculty Research - Faculty members conduct research on assorted topics including number theory, combinatorics, difference equations, topology, probability, and statistics. Faculty also engage in integrated research, collaborating with departments such as Biology and Engineering.
