Dr. Dominique Raynaud is a french researcher at the Laboratory of Glaciology and Environmental Geophysics (LGGE). His main contribution, along with his LGGE team, lies in the reconstruction of past atmospheric composition in carbon dioxide and methane and to the understanding of the link between these greenhouse gases and climate through ice core studies. He will present “Air bubbles in ice, a cornucopia of climate information” at on Oct. 25, 1:30 PM - 2:20 PM, in the Chapman Center, room 031. Refreshments at 1:15 PM.
Dr. Heather DeShon is a Seismologist at Southern Methodist University whose research focuses on understanding earthquake initiation and rupture complexity within subduction systems. Dr. DeShon will present “Great earthquakes and new insights into subduction seismogenesis” as part of the GeoPRISMS Distinguished Lecture Program on Oct. 10, 5:00 - 6:00 PM, in NH 040.
