Joshua Schwartz hails originally from Montreal, Canada and is a new face around the Engineering Science department. He teaches the basics of circuit theory and electronics as well as their corresponding lab components.

Students thrive on real-world examples; they should always focus on knowing "why" as much as "how". Context makes any subject not just easier to grasp, but also more fun! Well, ok, maybe not linear algebra (but you need it, so learn it anyways.)

His research interests include microwave engineering, photonics, and a dash of analog circuits. He was honored with the 2009 IEEE Microwave Prize for a publication on applied dispersive microwave structures, and his doctoral and post-doctoral works have been generously funded through Canadian government agencies at federal and provincial levels. He is excited to join Trinity University and hopes to instill in his students the same passion for knowledge and understanding that motivates his teaching.
