Trinity's modern languages and literatures curriculum incorporates in-class work, internship opportunities, immersion programs, and independent study to provide graduates with the essential tools to effectively engage in their future endeavors. The department offers majors and minors in Chinese, French, German Studies, Russian, and Spanish. Courses in Arabic, Italian, Japanese and other languages are also taught.
The study of modern languages and literatures is a discipline that provides individuals the opportunity to learn a foreign language in addition to an interdisciplinary exploration of the politics, sociology and history of the culture from which the language derives. The knowledge and skills gained through our program prepares students for success in a global society.
In addition to the coursework and high level of language training, students are exposed to several off-campus activities and experiences allowing them ample opportunities to network and interact with native speakers. Our graduates have entered into high level positions here in the United States and abroad.
