The Trinity University English program is distinguished by the quality of its faculty, the strength of its curriculum, and the excellence of its graduates. The department offers a major and minor in English, and supports minors in Comparative Literature, Creative Writing, Film Studies, Linguistics, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and Women and Gender Studies, all of which aim to improve students' abilities in prose argument, critical and interpretive thinking, and oral communication.

The array of diverse courses cover topics in British and American literatures, critical theory, post-colonial literatures, gender studies, Jewish literature, African-American literature, creative writing, and rhetoric, giving students a well-rounded educational experience.

In addition to the academic experience, our program offers several opportunities, both on- and off-campus, that enrich the student experience, including the English Club, the local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (an international English Honors Society), study abroad programs, First-Year Seminar peer tutor program, work experience in the Writing and Literature Center, and hands-on editing and publishing experience with Trinity's literary magazine, the Trinity Review, and the Expositor, a cross-disciplinary journal devoted to publishing the best in undergraduate expository prose.

Alumni from Trinity's English program have pursued advanced degrees at prestigious graduate schools, law schools, and professional programs in the country and abroad. Learn more by reading our alumni profiles and see the great things they are involved in after graduation.
