Considering the world’s religious perspectives.
The mission of Trinity's religion program is to help students develop different ways of thinking critically about religion and diverse religious traditions. Through the study of religion, students gain intellectual and academic tools to develop informed, responsible, and creative ways of enriching their own understanding of the world and of fulfilling their obligations as educated persons to the larger society in which they live.
The religion department offers courses in a variety of areas, including scripture (Hebrew Bible, New Testament and Qur’an), Asian religions, Native American religious traditions, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, contemporary religious thought, science and religion, and more. The department of religion also brings to campus distinguished scholars in the field of religion who deliver public lectures, meet with religion classes, and engage in informal conversation with faculty and students in the department.
Caitlin Troyer and Divina Varghese also do research in biomathematics. Read about their research in this recent article from the San Antonio Express News.
