The economics department at Trinity offers a variety of opportunities and experiences for students to participate in to further their education beyond the classroom. Students have access to internships, Economists in the Schools, Economics Society, the local chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon, scholarships, awards, and more. Additionally, many Trinity students publish papers in leading economic journals.
The internships offered give students the hands-on experience in applying what they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Students are encouraged to discuss interest in an internship with faculty on an individual basis.
Economists in the Schools is a program designed to promote and foster partnerships between Trinity University and San Antonio public schools. The program brings economics majors into local classrooms to teach elementary, middle, and high school students economic lessons that can be applied in meaningful ways.
Trinity's Economics Society is available to all students who have an interest in economics. The group offers lectures, informal social gatherings, tutoring, assistance with graduate school applications, and a variety of other activities and experiences. Omicron Delta Epsilon is a nationally recognized honors society for economics majors.
The scholarships and awards available to economics are offered and presented annually to recognize outstanding students and their academic achievements.
