I consider myself still a student, a mature one indeed. There are so many things I would like to learn and know about, infinite books I´d like to read. Being an avid reader, I see teaching and research as essential and natural activities in my life. I hope my students leave my classes with the same love for learning and intellectual curiosity I still have and treasure.

In my courses I try to convey the enthusiasm and love I feel for Spanish literature, language and culture to my students. I have always made efforts to connect as much as possible my research to my teaching.

Community Involvement

Having a strong Cuban and Spanish cultural heritage, I always try to be in contact with these communities in San Antonio. I have worked with the Cuban Center of San Antonio and the Casa de España.

Personal

I love writing. So far I have been fortunate enough to publish two volumes of poetry and a book of prose and short articles. I have recently concluded my first novel.
