NITLE

Trinity University is a participating member of the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE - pronounced "nightly"). NITLE is "a community-based, non-profit initiative that provides professional development programs, managed information services, and peer networking opportunities to independent, undergraduate-centered institutions of higher education that participate in our Network. We are dedicated to advancing learning through the effective use of digital technologies."

Professional Development Opportunities

NITLE's professional development opportunities are available in a variety of formats including workshops, online seminars accessed via their Multipoint Interactive Videoconferencing system, and access to shared services such as DSpace. Participation is usually routed through the campus liaison and allocated on a first-com-first-serve basis.

The program calendar lists all available opportunities. To participate, please contact Ronnie Swanner, who is serving as the NITLE liaison at the moment.

Please note that NITLE has a new membership model as of July 1, 2008. Under this model, it will no longer cover travel, boarding, or lodging costs for participation in its professional development opportunities. Faculty/staff interested in participating in NITLE activities will have to cover travel, boarding, and lodging costs from departmental or other funds.
