Trinity University Music Department Announces Fall Semester Events

A wide spectrum of concerts and other musical events will be presented on campus

SAN ANTONIO - The Trinity University music department will host a variety of events during the fall semester. Unless otherwise noted, all events are free and open to the public and will be in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall.

Oct. 5 - Craig Sorgi, violin, will present a recital at 3 p.m.

Oct. 8 - Chia-wei Lee, baritone, and Sarah Holman, soprano, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 15 - SOLI Chamber Ensemble, Trinity's Ensemble in Residence, will present "Past" at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 or free to Trinity faculty/staff/students with a Trinity ID.jonathan

Oct. 17 - Trinity Symphony Orchestra Concert, conducted by John Thornton at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 19 - Students of Brian Bondari will present "Fresh Ink and Random Electrons" at the Composition and Electronic Music Studio Recital at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 22 - A fall Choral Concert with Gary Seighman, conductor, will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Parker Chapel at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 24 - The Trinity University High School Choral Festival will start at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 25 - Jonathan Dimmock will present an Organ Recital Series in Parker Chapel at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 27 - Trinity Symphony Wind Ensemble Fall Concert, conducted by James Worman at 3 p.m.

Nov. 2 - Rosalind Phillips Vocal Competition for Trinity student singers starts at 7:30 p.m. Students will compete for a monetary award made in honor of the late Trinity voice teacher, Rosalind Phillips.

Nov. 3 - Trinity Jazz Ensemble, directed by James Worman, performs at 3 p.m.

Nov. 5 - Fretwork will perform "Dowland's Lachrimae" at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Stieren Arts Enrichment Series made possible by Jane and the late Arthur Stieren of San Antonio.

Nov. 19 - Students of Stephanie Key will present a Clarinet Studio Recital at 7:30 p.m.

Nov. 24 - Students of Craig Sorgi will present a Violin Studio Recital at 3 p.m.

Dec. 6 - The Trinity University Christmas Concert will feature an evening of seasonal music by the Trinity choirs, symphony orchestra, symphonic wind ensemble, handbell ensemble, and jazz band performing in Laurie Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Dec. 8 - The Christmas Vespers Worship Service, featuring the Trinity Choirs, is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Parker Chapel.
