Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance Conference Coming to Trinity University


Event targeted for professionals seeking to 'manage during the recovery;' continuing education credits offered


SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University, in partnership with the San Antonio chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance (AFWA), will host the South Central Texas Conference for Accounting and Finance Professionals from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9-10 on the Trinity campus.

In addition to keynote speakers speaking on the theme, "Managing in the Recovery," industry and accounting professionals will hold breakout sessions.

This conference marks the third year for this event. Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) can earn up to 16 continuing education credits for attending.

Sherrie Senft, conference co-chair, said she was so impressed with a previous conference as an attendee that she joined AFWA and took a leadership role with the conference. Proceeds from the conference will support AFWA San Antonio and Trinity University scholarship funds.

Attendees can register at http://www.trinity.edu/sctc.  Fees range from $14 to $19 per CPE hour.  Those who register by Sunday, July 21 will receive a registration discount. Members of AFWA and Trinity alumni also will receive discounts. A continental breakfast and lunch are included for both days of the conference.
