Exceptional Program, Rewarding Career

Demand for school psychologists is exceptionally strong and on the rise. As life has become more stressful and unpredictable, schools and communities have come under increasing pressure to provide mental health and academic support for children and youth.

As a graduate of our program, you will be well-prepared for the responsibilities and duties of a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) working in public school settings, helping children and youth succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. An important role of a LSSP is collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students that strengthen connections between home and school.

Trinity University's Master of Arts in School Psychology is a NASP approved, three-year, 60 semester hour graduate program that includes a yearlong internship and emphasizes preparation in assessment, mental health, child development, school organization, learning styles and processes, behavior, motivation, and effective teaching.

Our program offers:

  • Personalized learning within a Cohort Community — candidates proceed through a sequence of courses and field activities in a cohort of 10 to 15 students, remaining with the same small class over the three-year program, learning from and with one anxother, and forming networks that continue into students' professional lives after graduation.
  • Professional Faculty — all courses are taught by highly qualified instructors who are working professionals in the field.
  • National Certification — our graduates are eligible for certification by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the preeminent organization supporting the profession.

As a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology you can play a vital role in helping to unlock children's potential for a lifetime of success.
