Global Health Symposium Scheduled at Trinity University


International Studies and Study Abroad programs to host two-day symposium


In conjunction with Trinity’s International Studies and Study Abroad programs, the University will host “Symposium: Perspectives on Global Health” on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15, in the Chapman Center. The symposium is free and open to the public.

Global health has become a crucial component of foreign policy as well as a humanitarian and public health concern. The symposium objectives include:

  • To encourage students to apply their studies in foreign languages, politics, history, and other subjects to learn about and address global health issues
  • To acquaint students with the important work of Trinity alumni in the field of global health
  • To provide an opportunity for students to meet potential mentors in the field
  • To foster connections and collaborations among local institutions
  • To lay groundwork for enhanced global health study at Trinity
  • To promote service work abroad
