Trio of Service-Oriented Students

Trinity's Alumni Association honors three seniors for serving the University and community

SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University's Alumni Associated recently recognized three seniors for outstanding service to the University and to San Antonio. Benjamin Carroll will be recognized for his service to the University, Kristine Yi for her service to the community, and Catharine Found for her service to both the University and the community.

The students received certificates and $250 at the Honor Awards Convocation in late March. To receive the awards, exemplary seniors with service over an extended period of time were nominated by students, faculty, and staff. A panel of Trinity alumni interviewed finalists and selected the winners.

Carroll, originally from Evansville, Ind., exemplifies leadership. He served in leadership roles for the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity, Trinity University Student Ambassadors, the varsity men's tennis team, and as a Resident Assistant in Prassel Hall. He is a candidate for graduation in May and is expected to receive a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a focus in finance and management and a minor in Spanish.

Yi, originally from Rio Rancho, N.M., personifies involvement. She has served as a leader for the Trinity University Volunteer Action Committee, Institutional Review Board, Korean Student Association, and the Student Programming Board. She has presented numerous papers at conferences concerning health care and administration. She is a candidate for May graduation and is expected to receive a Bachelor of Arts in sociology with a minor in Spanish.  She will either go onto Pennsylvania State's health policy and administration Ph.D. program or the University of Michigan's public health Master's program.

Found, originally from Iowa City, is a member of the Trinity University Garden Club, varsity Volleyball, and Students for Sustainability. She served as a co-chair on the student ambassador team to the Senior Gift committee and was a program leader for the Trinity Athlete Body Image program. She has participated in research for animal bone-healing and patient-doctor relationships. She is a candidate for May graduation and is expected to receive a Bachelor of Science in environmental studies and urban studies with a focus on environmental policy and urban environment. She intends to continue traveling around the U.S. and the world after college.
