Trinity University Music Department Announces Spring Semester Events



SAN ANTONIO - The Trinity University music department will host a variety of events during the spring semester. Unless otherwise noted, all events are free and open to the public and will be held in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall:

Feb. 3 and 4 - "Broadway Rocks" Pops concert by the San Antonio Symphony featuring the combined Trinity University Choirs with Akiko Fujimoto conducting at 8 p.m. in Laurie Auditorium. For tickets contact the San Antonio Symphony at 210-554-1000 or visit sasymphony.org. Free for faculty/staff/students with a Trinity ID.

Feb. 5 - A concert featuring the Walden Chamber Ensemble is set for 3 p.m.

March 4 - A concert featuring the Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensemble is scheduled for 3 p.m.

March 5 - The Symphony Orchestra will hold its spring concert at 7:30 p.m.  Ken Greene will conduct.

March 6 and May 8 - The SOLI Chamber Ensemble will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 for students with a school ID, and free for faculty/staff/students with a Trinity ID.

March 20 - The Legends of Texas Border Music Series will feature Juan Tejeda, guest scholar at 4 p.m. and conjunto accordionist Eva Ybarra at 7:30 p.m., in Laurie Auditorium.

March 27 - As part of the Stieren Arts Enrichment Series, soprano Christine Brewer will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Parker Chapel.

March 30 - The Trinity University Choir's spring concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Gary Seighman will serve as conductor.

April 3 - A Celebration of Women's Voices concert is set for 7:30 p.m. with Gary Seighman conducting.

April 15 - Organist Thomas Trotter will perform at 3 p.m. in the Parker Chapel as part of the Parker Chapel Organ Recital Series.


April 17
- A Jazz Ensemble concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

April 21- The Choral Union will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. in Parker Chapel. Ken Greene and Gary Seighman will conduct.

April 22 - The Handbell Ensemble's spring concert will be at 3 p.m. with Diane Persellin conducting.

April 29 - The Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform its spring concert at 3 p.m. in the Stieren Theater. James Worman will conduct.
