Trinity University's Center for Leadership Development in Health Management enhances the department's efforts to prepare future leaders for the health management field. The Center's unique service offerings help develop leaders who are able to adapt and respond to industry needs in health care. The Center's key objectives are:
- to provide professional and career development activities for Trinity students, alumni, and friends at all stages of their careers;
- to recruit and select a diverse and highly qualified group of students for studies that lead to a master's degree in Health Care Administration; and
- to develop and maintain quality placements for the program's Administrative Residents that integrate theory with practice and provide a foundation for a student's professional career.
The Center and member health care organizations offer opportunities for graduate students taking part in a yearlong residency requirement of the program. The Center also assists with career transitions, provides professional development activities such as lectures by distinguished health care professionals and academics, résumé development, and workshops to boost interviewing skills and professional etiquette. Mentoring and job referral services are also provided.
The Center enables students, alumni, faculty, and friends to develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities to bring about the types of improvements in the health care system envisioned by the Quality Chasm report.
