Favorite College Course: Wow, this is a tough one to narrow down. But, I shall go with "Antiquity and Modernity" taught by Dr. Jenkins (he is amazing and everyone should take a course from him). In this course, we had the opportunity to examine modern interpretations of ancient culture by various political and cultural groups in the modern era. Plus, where else do you have the opportunity to study ancient literature, modern political movements and pop culture while watching movies, reading comics (some in Latin) and eating popcorn?
Favorite Trinity Experience: Trinity is an amazing place; I've met some of my best friends here that I know will always be a part of my life. One of those experiences that will always stick with me is traveling to England with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble my first year. It was brill (that's British for "cool") to travel with one of my best friends, Mike Warner, play Rhapsody in Blue with Dr. Carolyn True on piano, meet prolific wind band composers, see London, Liverpool, Manchester and the Rosetta Stone all under the watchful eye of our amazing band director, Dr. Jim Worman.
One Thing I Love About San Antonio: Can you say breakfast tacos? They are an amazing innovation in morning cuisine (that are usually popular till about 2:00 in the afternoon here) that everyone should try at least once.
Best College Search Advice: My advice to students embarking on their college search is to visit as many campuses as possible and meet with current students! Our counseling staff are great resource to answer your specific questions but current students are windows into what it is really like to be a part of a community. Plus, you'll get to meet some pretty amazing, talented and caring people.
